In any company that operates digitally, email becomes a problem at some stage. We've read countless articles that explain that email is not for tasks nor is it for collaboration and those articles are right. Using email for tasks not only clutters your communication streams, but has you stuck in email for far too many hours every day. Because of this, project management tools come into play. Over the years we've used a lot of different tools and we've explored many. Last week we mentioned that Basecamp was one of our favourites, and Excel was very useful but now we're exploring a new avenue. Asana is a well-known project management tool and their description is perfect, "Asana puts conversations & tasks together, so you can get more done with less effort." - That's quite a perfect fit to what was said in the first paragraph of this article isn't it? The best way to get an understanding of Asana is to watch their video: We're busy setting up all our projects and tasks, assigning responsibilities to the various team members and taking up our management a level. It's a bit overwhelming at first glance, but as you get into it and become more familiar so does the power behind it become more apparent. A lovely addition is that Asana has Android and iOS applications too. But that's not all, geeks will love that Asana has an API too!
